Fits great! Looks great!

Absolutely adorable suit! Let down the tie and it’s appropriate for most casual occasions!

This is my favorite

J’adore le costume de bain, bonne qualité. J’ai pris la grandeur Small, parfait pour moi, je suis un pouce plus petite que la grandeur inscrite. Je le rachèterais. Bien satisfaite.

Fabulous looking suit ..figure flattering

Three names circulate for closely related things, and telling them apart saves ordering the wrong one.
A swim dress is what most people mean here: a one-piece body with a skirt attached at the waist and a brief built in underneath. One garment, one size decision. Listings file the same thing as a one piece bathing suit with skirt attached, or simply as skirted bathing suits one piece.
A skirtini is a two-piece — a separate top with a skirted bottom. It looks similar on and sizes completely differently, since you buy the halves independently.
A skirted cover-up is not swimwear at all, and comes off before you get in the water.
Everything on this page is the first kind, and the rest of the shape sits in one piece swimwear.
A growing number of these are made with the skirt detachable, and it is worth knowing which kind you are looking at before you order.
A detachable skirt fastens to the body of the suit with a row of snaps, a hidden zip or a tie at the waist seam. Off, you are left with a plain one piece and a brief; on, you have the full dress. The join is the thing to inspect — a skirt that clips to a finished waist edge sits flat, while one that hangs from a loop or two bunches at the fastening.
Fixed skirts have the advantage in water. Nothing at the join can work loose and there is no hardware to press against you when you lie down. The detachable version buys flexibility and pays a little for it in bulk at the waist.
This comes up often enough to answer plainly: yes, a separate swim skirt goes over a one piece perfectly well, and it is the cheapest way to try the shape before committing to it. Two things to check. The skirt's waistband has to sit above the widest part of the suit's leg opening, or it rides up as you walk. And two layers of swim fabric at the hip take noticeably longer to dry than one.
The measurement that matters, and the one no size chart lists. A one piece swimsuit with skirt locks the distance between shoulder and crotch when it is cut, and the skirt changes none of it.
Too short and the suit pulls down at the shoulder and up at the crotch at once, with nothing to adjust. The skirt makes this harder to spot in a mirror, since it hides the waistline where the strain shows.
So if you are between sizes, size up rather than down, and prioritize adjustable straps over every other feature. Length gets added through the body without the width changing with it, which is the single most useful detail available on this shape. Or start from long torso one pieces, where the length is already there.
Shorter than instinct suggests, in most cases.
A skirt ending at the top of the thigh covers the hip and the very top of the leg, keeps the leg line visible, and stays close enough to the body not to float. A mid-thigh skirt covers more but begins to read as a dress rather than as swimwear, and it lifts in water unless there is weight in the hem.
Anything longer belongs to a different purpose — it will not swim well, and it is worth being honest with yourself about whether you want to swim in it or sit beside the water in it.
Whatever the length, check what sits underneath. A built-in brief is standard; a built-in short covers the upper thigh and is the version to look for if lifting is the concern. A flounced or tiered hem moves more and dries slower than a plain one, which is the trade for the look — ruffle one piece swimsuits take that idea through the rest of the suit.
The variable that matters most at larger sizes, and the one hardest to see in a product image.
A skirt joined at the natural waist runs a horizontal seam straight across the middle — for a lot of people that is precisely the line they hoped the garment would avoid. A skirt joined under the bust falls clear from the narrowest point and touches nothing below it, which is why the higher join turns up far more often in larger sizes.
Find it in the side-view photograph rather than the front. Gathering across the front hides the seam; from the side it is obvious. The higher join carries a second advantage too: with the load sitting further up, it is much more forgiving of torso length than a waist-joined skirt.
The skirt handles the hip and thigh, so the remaining decision is the top half. A higher neckline sits closer to the collarbone and stays there when you lean forward — see high neck one piece swimsuits. For more coverage through the body and the upper arm at once, modest one pieces combine readily with a skirt, and the plus size range carries the shape through to 3X.
