Beautiful top. Lovely soft material and fits perfectly. I'm a size 10 and ordered size M.

The top drapes beautifully & washes like a dream...no need to touch up with an iron.

Beautiful top

This is such a pretty shirt. It's always good quality and the fit is perfect. I tend to run a little warm and this sleeve length is just perfect for me going into fall and early winter.

Strictly speaking, a vintage T-shirt is an old one. In the secondhand trade, clothing is usually called vintage when it is at least twenty years old, and many collectors reserve the word for pieces from the 1990s or earlier. A true vintage tee has been worn, washed and aged by time, which gives it the softness and fading that people love.
Collectors look for clues to a shirt's age. Single-stitch hems and sleeves, where one line of stitching finishes the edge, are common on tees made before the late nineties. Old tags, brand logos and the texture of the cotton help date a shirt too. Band tees, sports tees and souvenir shirts from the 1970s to the 1990s are the most sought after.
That is very different from a vintage-style tee. Vintage-inspired T-shirts are new garments designed to look and feel like they came from an earlier decade. They borrow prints, colors and cuts from the past, sometimes with washes or finishes that soften the fabric, but they come new, in current sizes, with no wear.
Both have their appeal. True vintage is unique and carries history, but sizes are limited, condition varies and rare pieces can be expensive. Vintage-style tees offer the look in a full size range, with fresh fabric and consistent fit, and they are easy to replace when you find a favorite.
Many women mix the two. A thrifted find alongside a few new vintage tees with the same mood gives a wardrobe character without the hunt. If you are shopping for vintage tees online, check the description for words such as vintage-inspired, retro or washed, which signal a new garment with an old-fashioned look.
When a listing does say genuine vintage, look for measurements, photos of the tags and notes about condition, since old tees rarely match modern sizing.
Price is another difference. Rare genuine vintage tees, especially old band and sports shirts, can sell for far more than new ones because they are scarce. A vintage-style tee gives you the same relaxed mood at an everyday price and can be worn without worrying about damaging a collectible.
Prints do most of the work in giving a tee a vintage feel. Tribal and folk-inspired patterns, with their repeating geometric motifs and earthy colors, recall the bohemian styles of the late sixties and seventies. They look warm and relaxed, and they pair naturally with denim, suede and woven accessories.
Florals are another vintage signature. Faded, soft-edged florals in muted pinks, mustard and green feel like something from a grandmother's closet in the best sense, while bolder seventies florals feel playful and bright. A floral with a slightly washed look reads more vintage than a crisp, modern one.
Ditsy prints, tiny flowers scattered across the fabric, are one of the most versatile vintage styles. They look sweet but understated and suit women who want a vintage touch without a loud pattern.
Color is key. Vintage-style prints favor warm, slightly muted shades: rust, mustard, olive, dusty rose and faded blue. These colors look softer than modern brights and pair easily with each other.
Curved hems, relaxed fits and soft, washed fabrics complete the look. For a print with a faded, worn-in finish, see vintage graphic T-shirts.
Paisley and bandana-style prints also carry a strong vintage feel, recalling seventies festivals and Western wear. They pair well with denim and look relaxed rather than fussy.
Each decade has its own vintage mood. The seventies are about earthy colors, folk prints, ringer tees and flared jeans. Women's t-shirts vintage fans love from this era are often fitted, with small collars or contrast trim, in rust, mustard and brown.
The eighties bring brighter colors, bigger shapes and graphic prints. Tees were often looser, with dropped shoulders, and paired with high-waisted jeans and statement accessories.
The nineties lean relaxed and minimal: oversized tees, faded black and gray, band shirts and simple slogans, worn with straight jeans and sneakers. Many of today's most-loved vintage tees come from this decade.
To wear a vintage-style tee now, pair it with one modern piece, such as tailored trousers or a sleek jacket, so the outfit feels current. For retro cuts and seventies color palettes, see retro T-shirts; for printed tees, graphic T-shirts; and for relaxed shapes, loose fit T-shirts.
