Love this set, thank you.

I have ordered from Modlily for a couple of years. Every item I have ordered fits me exactly as I expected it to fit. I love this bathing suit. Really love the color. Even though I am 80 years old I feel good in it.

Nice fit. Wife really looks good in the suit.

Good fit and comfortable

Cutest suit I've ever purchased fits true to size very comfortable

A strapless bikini top has to hold its own weight and no more. A strapless tankini has to hold a panel of fabric that runs to the waist or the hip, and that panel weighs several times what the cups do once it is wet.
All of that weight goes into one band. There is no second route — no shoulder to share it with, no neck tie to take the edge off. It is why a strapless top that felt secure in a fitting room can start migrating twenty minutes after the first swim, and why the same design in a cropped length rarely does.
The consequence for buying is simple and it runs against instinct: in this one shape, a shorter hem is more secure than a longer one. If you want both the coverage and the bare shoulders, look for a top with a seam under the bust so the lower panel hangs from the seam rather than dragging on the band.
Three things, in order of how much they contribute. The underband does most of it, and it needs to be wide, firm, and sitting flat on the ribcage rather than perched on the underside of the bust.
A strip of silicone along the inside of the top edge does the rest, gripping skin so the front edge does not creep down. It is the detail worth looking for in a description, because a top without it is relying entirely on friction from the fabric.
Boning at the side seams is the third, and it is less common. Short flexible stays keep the band from folding over on itself when you bend, which is the moment most strapless tops lose position. On a fuller bust it matters more than either of the other two.
Before any of that, be honest about the day. A strapless top suits sitting, standing and wading; it does not suit lengths, ladders or anything with a child pulling on it. For those, a halter or a high neck top will spare you the running commentary in your own head.
Strapless is the one shape where the usual sizing advice reverses. In a strapped top a band that is fractionally loose is a minor annoyance. Here it is the whole failure, because there is no second system to take over.
Buy the band snug. It should sit level all the way round, stay put when you raise your arms, and take one finger underneath rather than a whole hand. If it comes in letter sizes and you fall between two, take the smaller — swim fabric relaxes with wear, and a strapless top that has relaxed is one you spend the day adjusting.
Length is the second decision and it works the same way. Between a cropped version and a hip-length one in the same design, the cropped one holds better every time. Take the length you need, and treat a long strapless top as a garment for dry land.
Getting in is fine. Getting out is where a strapless top is tested, because the whole garment is suddenly carrying water and gravity has a straight line to work with.
Two habits make it a non-event. Cross your arms over your chest as you climb a ladder, which takes the load off the band for the ten seconds it is worst. And wring the hem before you stand around in it — a soaked hem is what turns slow slippage into fast slippage.
For anything more demanding than standing in the shallows, a bandeau with removable straps gives you the same neckline with an option to clip them on. And for lengths, a wired top with proper straps is the honest recommendation: strapless is a shape for sitting in the sun, not for swimming in.
