This immediately became one of my favorite tops. It can be dressy or casual. I put a short black beaded necklace with it. It is very classy looking. I have received so many compliments on the top.

I also love this shirt but not a big fan of the material. Still very nice overall!

Nice dressy top

Very cute top. The "peplum" (empire waist?) is very flattering.

Red covers a surprisingly wide range, and the right shade makes all the difference. Tomato and coral reds lean warm, with a hint of orange. True red sits in the middle. Raspberry and cherry lean cool, with a touch of blue. Brick, rust and wine are the deeper, softer versions.
If gold jewelry suits you better than silver, warm reds and brick tend to be your best choice. If silver looks brighter on you, try raspberry or a blue-based true red. Deep wine and burgundy flatter almost everyone, which is why they are so popular for older women.
Brightness matters as much as warmth. A very bright red can feel loud on a fair, delicate complexion, while a deeper shade looks rich and calm. Holding a red color blouse up to your face in daylight is the quickest test: the right one makes your skin look clearer, the wrong one makes it look pink.
Lipstick is a helpful clue. The lipstick shades you already wear with confidence often point to the reds that suit you in clothing too, and matching the undertone of the blouse to your lipstick makes the whole face look coordinated.
Red is strong enough to lead an outfit, so let the rest support it. Navy is the classic partner, giving a smart, slightly nautical look. White keeps it fresh for spring and summer, while gray and black make it more formal.
Denim is the easiest everyday pairing. A red blouse with mid-blue jeans feels cheerful and relaxed, and with dark jeans it looks dressier. Camel and tan add warmth for fall, and a camel coat over a red blouse is one of the most flattering cold-weather combinations.
Avoid adding a second strong color unless you want a very striking look. If you like prints, choose a red blouse with a small pattern, such as a polka dot or ditsy floral, and keep the bottom half plain. For more colors in the same family, see our burgundy blouses.
Red and leopard print are a well-loved pairing if you like a little more flair. A leopard skirt, belt or pair of flats with a red blouse looks confident and grown-up, especially when the rest of the outfit is black or camel.
Neutral shoes are the safest choice with red blouses. Black shoes make the outfit sharper and more formal, nude or tan shoes lengthen the leg and keep the look light, and white sneakers make it casual.
Matching red shoes to a red blouse can look striking but works best when everything else is plain, such as black trousers and a black bag. A softer idea is to pick up a small accent: a shoe in navy or leopard print echoes the confidence of red without copying it.
Think about the season, too. Tan sandals and espadrilles suit a red blouse in summer, while ankle boots in brown or black carry it into fall and winter.
The bag follows the same logic as the shoes. A black, tan or cream bag keeps the focus on the blouse, and matching the bag to the shoes gives the outfit a tidy, finished frame around the color.
Red can work beautifully at the office when it is balanced. A red blouse under a navy, gray or black blazer looks confident without being loud, and a deeper shade such as wine or brick is easier still. Our work blouses show more quiet colors to rotate with it.
Keep the neckline modest and the shape simple for the office. A split neck, a small collar or a soft square neck in red looks professional, while large ruffles or deep necklines in such a strong color may feel better suited to the weekend.
A long sleeve red blouse is a cold-weather favorite, bringing color to gray days and looking warm under coats and cardigans. For the festive season, see our Christmas blouses.
Short sleeve red blouses suit summer picnics, Fourth of July gatherings and vacations, especially with white jeans or denim shorts. A red top with a small white print feels fresh in the heat, and a red geometric print looks neat with khaki. Browse short sleeve blouses for more.
A three-quarter or half sleeve works across the in-between seasons. It shows a little wrist, which keeps a strong color from feeling heavy, and it layers well under a light jacket when the evening cools.
