I love this suit!!! I can't wait to wear it!

This suit is beautiful and fits perfectly. If you need an underwire I highly recommend his one.

Gotta love this one. Very sexy for my man. A bit heavy on the fabric.. BUT has underwire for me. The ruffle is great feminine touch and the tie corset style turns your guy on. What man can resist pulling a tie string? Molded cups are a plus also for us bigger chested girls.. I ordered a medium and it fit well. Order the stockings to go with it and you are set for a night of fun and frolic.

A push-up cup on a bikini top is carrying itself and nothing else. The same cup on a tankini has a panel of fabric hanging below it, and once that panel is wet it pulls downward on the seam it is attached to.
The effect is small and consistent: the cup sits fractionally lower and the lift is partly cancelled by the weight of the rest of the garment. It is why a push-up top can work in a fitting room and read as ordinary at the pool.
What counteracts it is a seam under the bust that separates the cup from the body, so the panel hangs from the seam rather than from the cup. On a listing this shows up as a visible horizontal line under the bust, sometimes described as a banded or empire cut. A top without it will drop; a top with it will not.
Most descriptions talk about lift as though it happens underneath, and half of it does. The other half happens at the sides. A cup that is padded only along the bottom edge pushes upward and lets everything spread outward, which reads as less shape rather than more.
Padding or structure along the side of the cup pushes inward at the same time, and inward is what creates the line people are actually buying. The two together hold a shape; either on its own moves it in one direction and loses it in the other.
You can see which you are getting. Turn the cup inside out in the product image if there is one, or read for the words molded, contoured or side-boned. A halter neckline adds a third vector by pulling from above, which is why so many push-up tops in this category are halters rather than straight straps.
Push-up in swimwear and push-up in lingerie are different jobs with the same name. A bra is worn dry, under clothing, for a few hours, and can rely on a thick pad to do the work. A swim top is worn wet, on show, and a thick pad in water takes on weight and takes hours to dry.
That is why swim versions get their lift from molding and from the band rather than from thickness, and why the removable inserts that come with them are adjustment rather than foundation. Take them out and a well-built top still holds its shape. Take them out of a poorly built one and it collapses.
The practical read on a listing: if the description leads with how much lift it adds and never mentions the band, the band is probably not doing much. Underwire tankinis and bra sized tops state their construction because their construction is the point.
This is the one case where padding really is doing the main job rather than assisting it, and it is worth saying plainly. With less weight to hold, the band is not the limiting factor, so the shape is free to come from the cup. Removable inserts genuinely change the silhouette here in a way they cannot on a fuller bust.
The thing to watch instead is gaping at the top edge of the cup. A molded cup holds a fixed shape whether or not it is filled, and any gap it leaves will fill with water every time you go in. A softer cup with a halter tie above it closes against the body instead, which is why a tie neckline suits a smaller bust better than a fixed strap does.
Foam inserts are the first component to fail on any padded top, and they fail in a way that is easy to miss. They absorb water, dry slowly, and lose their spring after a season of being packed damp. The fabric around them still looks new.
Taking them out to dry separately doubles their life and costs nothing. If they have gone lumpy, replacing the inserts is possible where replacing a set is not.
