Love the top, looks great on. Runs a little small

great top for work

It's different, like a t-shirt fabric, looks pretty.

Leopard print can look either, and three things decide which. The first is scale. Small or medium spots that repeat evenly look refined, while oversized, stretched spots can look loud. The second is color: the natural palette of tan, brown and black looks classic, while neon or very high-contrast versions feel closer to costume.
The third is fabric. A leopard blouse in a matte crepe, silk or soft cotton looks polished, especially with a simple shape and a neat collar or V neck. The same print on shiny, clingy stretch fabric reads cheaper, because the shine exaggerates the pattern.
Quantity matters as much as any of these. One leopard piece surrounded by solids looks deliberate and elegant, while two or three leopard pieces together start to feel like a theme. A leopard trim, collar or cuff is the quietest version of all.
The older name, the leopard skin print blouse, recalls the glamorous 1950s and 1960s, when the pattern was a mark of sophistication on coats and evening wear. That history is part of why leopard still reads as classy when it is worn with restraint.
Treat leopard as a neutral and most pairings fall into place. Black is the easiest match, picking up the dark spots for a sleek look with black trousers or a pencil skirt. Camel and chocolate brown echo the warm ground and look rich in fall and winter.
Denim is a relaxed partner: blue jeans cool down the warm print and make a leopard top casual enough for weekends. White jeans or cream trousers keep it fresh in spring and summer.
For a pop of color, red is a classic companion, whether as a lipstick, a pair of flats or a cardigan. Emerald, cobalt and burgundy also look lovely against leopard. Warm reds to pair with it appear among our red blouses, and black blouses make an easy base for the print in a skirt or scarf.
Shoes and bags work best in solid colors. Black ankle boots, tan loafers or nude flats let the print lead, and a slim black belt gives a loose leopard shape a neat waist.
No age is too old for leopard print. Many women find they enjoy it more with time, because the print has a confident, grown-up feel that suits a well-edited wardrobe. What changes with age is usually the way it is worn.
A leopard blouse in a soft, flowing fabric with sleeves is an easy choice at 50, 60 and beyond. Under a navy or camel cardigan, with the print showing at the neckline and cuffs, it adds interest without feeling like too much. A smaller spot and a gentler contrast look especially graceful.
Leopard also brings warmth to the face, which many women appreciate as their coloring softens. Pearl or gold earrings finish the look nicely, and timeless shapes to wear alongside are gathered among our classic blouses.
A leopard blouse also mixes well with pieces many women already own: a navy blazer, gray trousers or a denim jacket all take it in stride.
Leopard need not be brown. Pink leopard, with darker pink or brown spots on a blush ground, feels playful and feminine and pairs beautifully with white, gray or denim. It is a gentle way to try the print for the first time.
Blue leopard, in shades such as peacock or navy, looks cooler and more unexpected; it suits cool skin tones and sits easily with white trousers or a navy skirt. Pink shades appear among our pink blouses, and the wider family of animal patterns, from zebra to snake, sits under animal print blouses.
Colored leopard is also a softer choice for spring and summer, when the classic brown version can feel heavy next to linen and pastels.
