I really liked these pants, this is way out of the kind of thing I typically buy and I was pleasantly surprised, I am in the process of exchanging them for a smaller size. I hope the next size down will still have the length that I loved with these pants. (Pants are normally too short for me.) I got them in an XL and I’m going down to an L. They were soft, kind of silky feeling, and very flowy — all in a good way!

Love these pants! They are so comfortable and cool for summer wear!

Black wide leg pants can take several forms even within one color family. A plain dark pair creates a quiet base; stripes or a small repeating print add another pattern to the outline; a belted or pull-on waist changes the upper finish. The width can begin close to the hip or become more noticeable lower down. Compare those details before treating every black pair as the same wardrobe piece.
The category shown here includes different cuts, so inspect each item rather than assuming the page label establishes its shape. A photograph of the whole leg helps you judge the opening, and a side view can show whether the upper part sits close or falls freely. Wide leg pants address the broad styling questions. If color is your starting point but width is still undecided, black pants offer the larger family for comparison.
With wide leg black pants, surface texture can make a substantial difference to the final outfit. A smoother-looking fabric and a visible crease suggest a different mood from a softer, more relaxed outline. Read composition, fastening and pocket details where available. Black can be a practical coordinating color, but it does not guarantee a particular level of formality, opacity or stretch. The specific garment still determines those qualities.
Office dressing begins with the expectations of your workplace. A broad black leg may suit a business casual setting with a collared shirt, neat knit or structured jacket, but the silhouette alone does not establish compliance with a formal dress code. Review the particular material and finish before choosing it for an important meeting. A dark color helps coordinate the outfit, while fit supplies the composed appearance.
Pay attention to the upper edge. A waistband sitting comfortably under a tucked shirt gives the outfit a clear arrangement; a bulky tuck can make it harder to see how the pieces fit together. Try a smaller front tuck or a top ending neatly above the hip if a full tuck feels cumbersome. Black work pants focus on the office requirement, and business casual pants examine the dress-code question more closely.
The shoe and hem need to work during a walking day as well as at a desk. Check that the front clears the toe and the back stays out of the heel's path. A long leg designed around a taller shoe may need adjusting for a low loafer. Sit down to test the waistband and pockets before deciding the outfit is ready. Workwear is more useful when its polish lasts through ordinary movement, with no pulling at the hip or repeated adjusting at the waist.
For an everyday outfit, let one upper piece set the mood. A striped tee makes the dark base feel casual, a pale knit softens it, and a brighter blouse creates a focal point. You can add an open shirt or short jacket when more coverage is useful. Choose the ending of the layer deliberately so the lower silhouette remains visible instead of disappearing beneath a bulky hem.
Evening dressing can come from texture and a clean neckline rather than from a completely different pair of pants. A fine knit, small bag and shoes that work with the hem can shift the outfit toward dinner. Palazzo pants offer a more expansive shape to compare, while high waisted wide leg pants examine waist placement. If you are searching in plus size ranges, compare your waist and fullest hip measurements with the item's chart rather than assuming a roomy leg establishes the available size range.
On a weekend, simplify the upper half and use comfortable footwear. Check the length again if you change from an evening shoe to a sneaker. The same color can support different outfits, but the pants only earn that flexibility when the waist, hip and hem work with the pieces you actually wear. Keep a few dependable combinations in mind before choosing a new pair.
Build two complete combinations before ordering: one with a top for your busiest weekday, another with a layer for a relaxed day. Include the shoes in both. This small wardrobe check reveals whether the hem, waist arrangement and surface pattern work with the pieces already in your closet, making the new pair easier to use repeatedly.
