Plus Size Bowknot Black Striped Bikini Set

There is no single figure, because what a bikini should cost depends on what it has to do. A set for lying by a pool needs less construction than one that has to support a fuller bust through a proper swim, and the price of each tends to reflect that difference.
A more practical measure is cost per wear. A set that stays in rotation for two or three summers works out cheaper than one worn a handful of times, whatever either one cost at checkout. That turns the question from how cheap into how long the suit will keep its shape.
The answer depends mostly on the job. Tops that simply cover — bandeau, triangle, bralette — and bottoms with a plain pull-on band can be made well at a low price. Tops that carry weight need wires, firm bands and molded cups, which cost more to make at any price point.
That is why the most affordable cute swimsuits are usually the lightly structured ones. For a small or medium bust, a low-cost triangle or halter set can be every bit as comfortable as an expensive one, since there is little in its construction to cut corners on.
Lower prices usually show up in the same few places. The fabric is lighter, the lining may cover only the front of the top or the gusset of the bottom, and hardware such as rings and sliders is plastic in place of coated metal. None of these makes a bikini unwearable, but each one affects how it ages over a summer.
Finding cheap bikinis that are good quality comes down to a minute of checking. Read the description for lined and for the fabric's stretch content; zoom into the product photographs at the edges, where stitching and binding show whether they lie flat; and look at how the straps attach. A strap sewn directly into the cup edge holds better than one hanging from a small loop.
Some features are worth a little more money and some are not. Padding and decorative trims are cheap to add and easy to skip; a supportive band is the one element that is hard to make well at the lowest price.
Searches for cheap bikinis for big busts are common, and they are the hardest to satisfy, because support is built from parts that add cost. The most economical way to get it is to put the band ahead of everything else — a wide, firm elastic band does more lifting than padding or straps.
Halter necks help too. A halter takes some weight onto the neck and back, and a halter with a band under the bust is one of the most supportive shapes at a lower price. Bandeau tops are the least supportive for a fuller bust, since nothing holds them from above.
Larger sizes follow the same logic: plus size bikinis with wider straps and a high waisted bottom share the load between the two halves. When a supportive top is worth spending more on, large bust bikinis and underwire bikinis are the places to look; it is the one purchase where saving a little often costs comfort.
A matching set is the simplest way to get a complete bikini in one purchase, with the top and bottom already coordinated. Separates can cost more for a single outfit but go further once a few pieces are in the drawer, since each new half adds combinations with everything already there.
A black triangle bikini top is the most versatile single piece to add. It pairs with nearly any bottom, from prints to solids to high waisted briefs, and refreshes a set whose top has worn out before its bottom.
A spare swim bottom works the same way in reverse. Pairing looks intended when one of the two halves is plain, and two inexpensive halves in coordinating solids give more combinations over a trip than a single matched set.
